An iPhone app for Canadian households

Your insurance plans owe you money. This tracks it until they pay.

Insurance companies make claiming exactly as hard as they're allowed to, and they count on you giving up. Fully Reimbursed is a counterweight: it tracks every claim in your household, knows where to submit next, and does the paperwork's paperwork.

A claim for $180 of dental cleaning, start to finish

Sara has one Sun Life plan through work. Riley has two with Greenshield (work and school) plus a HSA spending account. In order to maximize their benefits, they have to submit to all four accounts.

Read on your device — nothing ever leaves it.

Open the app, see what you're still owed

Sara's cleaning still has $36 outstanding, so let's follow it.

And the next steps

Links to the receipt, previously submitted claims, all at a glance.

The submission order is worked out for you

Stop having claims be denied or utilizing your coverage ineffectively because you submitted in the wrong order.

A denial becomes a next step, not a dead end

Riley's work plan denied the claim because it wanted the Sun Life statement included.

No hassle resubmissions

All your documents and the relevant information, all in one place

The app follows up so you don't have to

About two weeks later, a notification asks you to check Greenshield for the result and add it to the claim.

No more squinting at complicated claim results

The provider, date and amount are highlighted right on the document for you to verify. Nothing ever leaves your device.

Your health data is none of our business. By design.

iPhone-only, on purpose

All documents are parsed with Apple's on-device intelligence. Documents never leave the device to be processed, so your data can't be harvested.

Synced through Apple's iCloud, not our cloud

The household's claims and documents can be synced to iCloud so other family members can contribute. Apple owns all the infrastructure; we don't have a third party cloud holding your data.

Worth knowing even if you never sign up

How does coordination of benefits work in Canada?

If you and your partner each have benefits through work, you are allowed to claim the same expense from both plans: first from one, then the leftover from the other. The industry calls this coordination of benefits. It's money many Canadian households leave behind, because the process is deliberately opaque.

The order is what matters. Your own plan pays first on your expenses. Your partner's plan pays first on theirs. Whichever plan didn't go first is the secondary plan, and it will only consider what's left over, which means it needs the first plan's decision before it can do anything.

A health spending account (HSA), if either of you has one, is the last stop rather than the first: submit to both group plans, then send whatever they left behind to the spending account.

Two more rules follow from all this. Never submit to the secondary plan first: it will ask for a decision that doesn't exist yet. And never throw away a rejection: a denial from the primary plan is exactly the document the secondary plan needs. Sun Life, Canada Life, Manulife and the rest all work this way, they just each have their own forms, portals and deadlines for it.

Who made this

Made at a kitchen table, not by an insurer

We're a couple with multiple insurance plans living in Ontario, Canada, and one of us is a software engineer with ten years of experience. A few years of massage receipts, pharmacy printouts and "denied, see code" letters seemed designed to make us give up: every abandoned claim is money an insurer keeps. So we built the thing we wished existed. We run every one of our own claims through it, with over $2,000 recovered in the past year.

There's no venture capital here and no data to sell. The plan is simple: one annual subscription, unlimited claims. You're the customer, not the product. Just an app for people who'd like the money they are owed by insurance companies, made by people who wanted theirs.
